South Electrical Solutions provides Portable Appliance Testing for businesses, schools, landlords and domestic clients. Our qualified, DBS-checked and insured engineers carry out visual inspections and appropriate electrical tests, then record the results for your equipment.

What is included in PAT Testing?
- Visual inspection and appropriate appliance tests.
- Pass or fail labels and an electronic appliance register, including failed items.
- Replacement of damaged plug tops and fuses, plus minor plug-wiring repairs where appropriate.
- Re-testing after repairs, excluding fixed appliances and 110V equipment.
- A PAT certificate and renewal reminder, with reports released after payment.

Keep organised testing records for workplace appliances such as office equipment, extension leads and staff kitchen items. Tell us about restricted areas and equipment that cannot be disconnected without notice.
Inspection and testing intervals should reflect risk, equipment type and use. Annual PAT Testing is not a universal legal requirement. Read the HSE guidance and discuss a suitable schedule for your premises.

We test landlord-supplied appliances and work with landlords, letting agents and property managers. Confirm which appliances belong to the landlord and arrange access with the tenant before the visit.
Tenant-owned appliances are outside a landlord PAT job. PAT Testing covers appliances; an EICR covers the fixed electrical installation. Ask about both services if required.
